Validation of Antibody Specificity Using Genetic Strategy
It is often assumed that antibodies used in publications are specific to the protein of interest. However, most commercial research antibodies have not been tested for specificity, which can waste time and money and potentially lead to irreproducible results. To ensure that our antibodies are specific, we validated our antibodies by means of lentiviral shRNA-mediated gene silencing, also referred to as knockdown ( KD) technique.
